    Home Ministry decides to observe national mourning day in honour of those died during Gen-Z protest

    Kathmandu, Sept 15: The Ministry of Home Affairs today decided to observe a national mourning day in honour of those who died during the recent Gen-Z demonstrations.

    Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal took this decision upon his assumption of office today. Prime Minister Sushila Karki had recommended his name for the Cabinet member on Sunday.

    In commemoration of those killed during the protest, the national flag will be flown at half-mast. The decision will however be endorsed by a meeting of the Council of Ministers.

    Similarly, the families of the deceased would to be provided with Rs 100,000 as relif amount to conduct last rites and transport the bodies of the dead ones to their houses.

    Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi, Inspector General of Nepal Police, Chandra Kuber Khapung, Armed Police Force Chief Raju Aryal and Acting National Investigation Director welcomed the new Home Minister to his office.
