    Government’s budget expenditure stands at 9 percent in two months of current FY

    Kathmandu, Sept 17: The government’s budget expenditure stands at 9.17 percent as of mid-September of the current fiscal year 2082/83 (2025-26).

    During the first two months of the current fiscal year, 9.67 percent of the budget has been spent on current expenses, 1.56 percent on capital expenses, and 15.89 percent on financial management, according to the Office of the Comptroller General.

    This year, a total budget of 1 trillion 964 billion 110 million was brought and the budget expenditure was 180 billion 180 million 400 thousand by September 16.

    Out of the budgetary allocation of Rs 1 trillion 180 billion 980 million towards current expenditure, Rs 114 billion 180 million 720 thousand has been spent so far. Similarly, out of an allocation of Rs 407 billion 888 million under the capital heading, Rs 6 billion 353 million 300 thousand has been spent.

    The annual allocation under the title of financial management is equivalent to Rs 375 billion 242 million, of which Rs 59 billion 629 million 900 thousand has been spent by mid-September.

    During this period, the government has collected 10.43 percent of the annual revenue target. For the current fiscal year, the government’s target is to collect a total revenue of Rs 1 trillion 533 billion 446 million 900 thousand. Of this target, Rs 159 billion 985 million 300 thousand has been collected so far.

    The annual target for revenue collection is Rs 1 trillion 325 billion 583 million 900 thousand, of which 11.35 percent or Rs 150 billion 401 million 300 thousand has been collected. Similarly, the annual target for non-tax revenue collection is Rs 154 billion 416 million 100 thousand, of which Rs 7 billion 132 million 100 thousand or 4.62 percent of the target has been collected.

    Meanwhile, the government’s target for mobilizing foreign grants is Rs 53 billion 446 million 900 thousand for the current fiscal year, and of this Rs 1 billion 273 million 700 thousand, or 2.38 percent of the target, has been raised so far.
