Nepal Airlines taking stranded passengers to Kathmandu through chartered flight

Lumbini Oct 5: The Nepal Airlines (NA) is airlifting the passengers, stranded in Bhairahawa following incessant rain, to Kathmandu in its chartered flight.

Chief District Officer of Rupandehi, Dr Tokraj Pandey, said that the NA’s 148-seater plane is set to take off from the Gautam Buddha International Airport, Bhairahawa at 9.00 pm today.

“The passengers have been staying at the Hanuman Temple in Gallamandi of Bhairahawa since yesterday. Likewise, some passengers are taking shelter at Belhiya, Butwal.

The roads are obstructed. Obtaining air ticket is almost impossible. In such adverse situation, we have arranged a chartered flight of the NA in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. Hopefully, it will be a respite for the passengers bound to Kathmandu,” Pandey said.

It is informed that NA’s representative Arun Panthi can be contacted for the chartered flight. The NA is operating the Bhairahawa-Kathmandu chartered flight in to provide service to the general people during the present difficult time.
