    Rainfall experienced in different districts including Kathmandu

    Kathmandu, March 24: Rainfall took place in some districts including Kathmandu of the country today, as a result of the partial effect of westerly winds and local winds.

    According to the rainfall measurement centers under the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Kathmandu received 1.2 millimeters of rain in the last one hour while Jhapa received the highest rainfall of 9.4 millimeters. Similarly, Taplejung, Bhojpur, Nuwakot, Lamjung, Gorkha, Kaski and Kalikot are receiving light rain. In the last three hours, Tanahun has received 24.6 millimeters of rain and Jhapa 12.2 millimeters of rain.
    Hail, snowfall and windstorms have also occurred in some districts.

    According to Dinkar Kayastha, Information Officer of the Department of Meteorology, the weather in hilly and mountainous regions of the country including Koshi Province is generally cloudy and partially cloudy in the rest of the region.

    The evening bulletin of the Division states that light rain and snowfall accompanied with thunder and lightning is occurring at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

    According to the department, on Wednesday, the weather in hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces will be generally cloudy while the remaining hilly and mountainous areas will be partly cloudy. Similarly, the weather will remain mainly clear in the Tarai region.

    There is a possibility of light rain andsnowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces and at one or two places in the hilly and mountainous parts of the remaining provinces.
